        • Firearms must be unloaded and in a locked hard-sided container.

        • The container must be large enough to completely secure the firearm from being accessed.

        • The firearm must be declared to the airline at check-in.

      Ammunition

          • Ammunition must be securely packaged in checked babagge.

          • Ammunition must be packaged in fiber, wood, or metal boxes, or other packaging specifically designed to carry small amounts of ammunition.

          • Ammunition does not need to be declared to the airline.

        Prohibited items

            • Loaded firearms are prohibited in checked baggage and carry-on baggage.

            • Certain firearm parts, including firearm frames and receivers, are prohibited in all carry-on baggage.

            • Ammunition is prohibited in carry-on baggage.

          Additional information

              • Travelers may transport a maximum of 11 pounds of ammunition per person.

              • Travelers may transport a maximum of two firearms per person.

              • Travelers may transport additional firearms and ammunition in checked baggage if they are properly declared to the airline and meet all other TSA requirements.

            International travel
