TSA PRECHECK: WHAT IS IT?

Pre-Check enrollment is pretty easy to do. You must first complete your application and pay the application cost online. The TSA often responds quickly, and when they do, they’ll invite you to schedule an in-person interview at a TSA Pre-Check registration facility. You will provide a few types of identification during your interview and respond to a few questions. You’ll also be fingerprinted and subject to a background investigation. If accepted, you will obtain your “Known Traveler Number” (KTN), which you will use to make future air travel arrangements, typically within 5 business days after the in-person interview. Your boarding cards will have “TSA Pre-Check” inscribed on them if you use that number, making you eligible for accelerated screening.
